Tracy Maureen Perez, 27, of Cebu City, Philippines is one of the 45 Filipino women competing for the Miss World Philippines 2021 crown. She is a beauty pageant veteran.
Originally from Baguyan, Agusan del Sur, Philippines, Perez is the daughter of the late Chona Perez, who was a Binibining Cebu finalist. Chona was also once named among Cebu’s Five Prettiest.
From 2008 to 2014, Perez attended the University of San Carlos in Cebu City where she earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. She was runner-up to Miss Cebu 2016 Gabriele Raine Baljak, 24.
Representing Argao, Cebu, Tracy competed in Binibining Cebu 2017 and finished sixth. She represented Madridejos, Cebu in Binibining Cebu 2018 and won the Binibining Cebu Charity 2018 title.
On September 15, 2019, Tracy finished in the Top 12 in Miss World Philippines 2019. The winner Michelle Marquez Dee, 26, finished in the Top 12 in Miss World 2019.
On October 25, 2020, Tracy represented Cebu City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She won the Miss Photogenic award and finished in the Top 16.
Now, Tracy is back armed with experience, confidence and determination. She is looking forward to representing the Philippines in Miss World 2021, which will take place at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 16, 2021.
Miss World crowned its first queen in 1951. Since then, the international beauty pageant has been held annually except in 2020 due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Currently, the Philippines has one Miss World crown. Megan Young, 31, won the 63rd edition of the competition at the Bali Nusa Dua International Convention Center in South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia on September 28, 2013.
Tracy is not the only beauty pageant veteran currently eyeing for Miss World Philippines 2021 throne. Ruffa Nava, 28, of Iloilo City, Philippines is also back after being unplaced in Miss World Philippines 2014 and finishing in the Top 20 in Miss World Philippines 2019.
To become the second Miss World from the Philippines, Tracy have to first beat Nava, Jo-Ann Flores, 27, of Laguna, Philippines, Riana Pangindian, 25, of Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines and 41 others. Pangindian finished in the Top 16 in Miss Universe Philippines 2020 while Flores was unplaced.
