Featuring five mixed martial arts matches and one Muay Thai fight, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Dangal” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 15, 2021. In the second bout of the evening, Mainam will fight Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat, 33, of India and Canada.

Mainam and Mangat will battle it out at a catch weight of 65 kg. Both contenders compete in the flyweight (61.2 kg) division of ONE Championship.

Including India and Canada, 10 countries will be represented at “ONE: Dangal.” The others are Brazil, China, Ireland, japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and the United States.

Representing India along with Mainam and Mangat are Ritu “The Indian Tigresss” Phogat, 27, and Arjan Bhullar, 34. Mangat and Bhullar are the representatives of Canada, as well.

In the main event of the evening, Bhullar will challenge reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 43, of the Philippines. It was in the Philippines where Mainam earned his first ONE Championship win.

The name of the event is inspired by “Dangal,” the highest-grossing Indian film ever. Released in 2016, the biographical sports drama film is about Phogat’s sisters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, who became India’s first world-class female wrestlers after being trained by their father Mahavir Singh Phogat.
